== Overview ==

Winecrafting is a custom crafting system that allows players to grow grapevines, harvest grapes, and craft wine from a wide variety of grapes, fruits, and other ingredients. The finished product can be consumed for thirst relief (and a bit of inebriation), labeled with your personal vineyard name, and stored in decorative bottle racks and keg storage addons.

Winecrafting uses the '''Alchemy''' skill. To get started, visit the supply NPC located '''outside the back entrance to Main Street''' — look for the grapevines nearby.

== Getting Started ==

To begin your winecrafting journey, you will need the following from the supply NPC:

* '''Winecrafter Tools''' — the crafting tool used to open the Winecrafting Menu
* '''Grapevine Placement Tool''' — used to place, move, and delete grapevines
* '''Vineyard/Garden Ground Addon Deed''' — optional dirt-ground addon for placing vines inside your house
* '''Vineyard Label Maker''' — used to name your vineyard and label your wines
* '''Empty Wine Bottles''' — for bottling your finished wine
* '''Sugar''' and '''Yeast''' — required crafting ingredients
* '''Kegs''' — each batch of wine produces a keg

== Placing Grapevines ==

=== Vineyard Ground Addon ===

If you want to grow grapes inside your house, you will first need to place a '''Vineyard/Garden Ground Addon'''. Double-click the deed and use the bounding box tool to select an area (minimum 3x3). You will then choose from four ground styles:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
! Style !! Description
|-
| Furrow (No Border) || Furrowed dirt tiles with no decorative border
|-
| Furrow (Border) || Furrowed dirt tiles with a stone border
|-
| Plain (No Border) || Plain dirt tiles with no decorative border
|-
| Plain (Border) || Plain dirt tiles with a stone border
|}

'''Important:''' You must be a co-owner of the house to remove the addon. To remove it, double-click the addon while standing within 3 tiles of it and confirm the removal. A replacement deed will be placed in your backpack. All grapevines and crops on the addon will be automatically removed when the addon is deleted.

=== Using the Grapevine Placement Tool ===

Double-click the '''Grapevine Placement Tool''' (or use the '''[addgv''' command if you are an admin) to open the Add Grapevine Menu. From this menu you can:

'''Select a Grape Variety''' — Click the variety button at the bottom-left of the menu to choose which type of grape your vine will produce. There are 11 grape varieties available for vines:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
! Variety
|-
| Cabernet Sauvignon
|-
| Chardonnay
|-
| Chenin Blanc
|-
| Merlot
|-
| Pinot Noir
|-
| Riesling
|-
| Sangiovese
|-
| Sauvignon Blanc
|-
| Shiraz
|-
| Viognier
|-
| Zinfandel
|}

'''Select a Vine Type''' — Choose from 10 different vine piece styles to build out your vineyard:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
! Vine Piece !! Description
|-
| East Pole (End 1) || End cap for east-facing rows
|-
| East Pole (Center) || Center post for east-facing rows
|-
| East Pole (End 2) || Opposite end cap for east-facing rows
|-
| East Branch (1) || Leafy branch piece for east-facing rows
|-
| East Branch (2) || Alternate branch piece for east-facing rows
|-
| North Pole (End 1) || End cap for north-facing rows
|-
| North Pole (Center) || Center post for north-facing rows
|-
| North Pole (End 2) || Opposite end cap for north-facing rows
|-
| North Branch (1) || Leafy branch piece for north-facing rows
|-
| North Branch (2) || Alternate branch piece for north-facing rows
|}

Use the magnifying glass icon next to each vine type to preview its appearance before placing.

'''Place the Vine''' — Click a vine type name to begin targeting. Click the ground where you want the vine placed. Each vine costs '''250 gold''', deducted from your bank or backpack.

'''Move a Vine''' — Click the '''MOVE''' button, then target a vine you previously placed, then target the new location.

'''Delete a Vine''' — Click the '''DELETE''' button, then target a vine you previously placed. You will be refunded '''250 gold''' for each deleted vine.

=== Placement Rules ===

* Players must be standing inside their own house to place vines.
* Vines can be placed inside the house on dirt tiles or vineyard ground addons.
* Vines can also be placed in your yard (within 5 tiles of your position).
* Only the player who placed a vine can harvest from it, move it, or delete it.

== Harvesting Grapes ==

Double-click a grapevine to harvest grapes from it. You must be within 2 tiles and dismounted. The number of grape bunches you harvest depends on your '''Cooking''' skill and a bit of luck. Each vine holds up to '''5 bunches''' and regrows over time (roughly 30 seconds per bunch).

You can only harvest from vines that you placed. There is a short cooldown of 5 seconds between harvesting attempts.

== Crafting Wine ==

=== Requirements ===

To craft wine, you need:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
! Ingredient !! Amount
|-
|-
| Sugar || 1
|-
| Yeast || 1
|}

=== How to Craft ===

# Equip or double-click your '''Winecrafter Tools''' to open the Winecrafting Menu.
# The menu shows one recipe: '''Keg of Wine'''.
# Select the grape/fruit type you want to use from the material selection list.
# Click "Make Item" to begin crafting.
# On success, a '''Wine Keg''' is created in your backpack.

=== Grape & Fruit Varieties ===

The following ingredients can be used to craft wine. Each requires a different minimum '''Alchemy''' skill:

{| class="wikitable sortable"
|-
! Category !! Variety !! Min. Alchemy Skill
|-
|}

'''Tip:''' Fruit wines (Apple, Pear, Peach) require only 60.0 Alchemy, making them a great way to start training. Dandelion wine at 125.0 skill is the most challenging recipe and a true mark of a master winecrafter.

== Wine Quality ==

Crafted wine can be one of two quality levels:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
! Quality !! Label !! Notes
|-
| Regular || Displays the grape variety name || Standard result
|-
| Exceptional || '''"Special Reserve"''' || High skill roll; the wine is labeled "Special Reserve [Variety]"
|}

If you have sufficient skill, you may also apply a '''Maker's Mark''' to your wine.

== Vineyard Label Maker ==

The '''Vineyard Label Maker''' lets you personalize your wine. Double-click it (must be in your backpack) and then:

'''To name your vineyard:''' Target the Label Maker itself. Enter your vineyard name. As long as the Label Maker is in your pack with a vineyard name set, all future wine you craft will automatically be labeled with that name.

'''To label a wine keg or bottle:''' Target a wine keg or wine bottle that you crafted. Enter a custom label name. Only wines you personally crafted can be labeled.

Without a vineyard name, wine will display as "[Crafter Name] Vineyards" or "Cheap Table Wine" if there is no crafter.

== Drinking Wine ==

Double-click a wine bottle to drink it. Drinking wine:

* Satisfies thirst (fill factor of 4)
* Increases your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) by 5 per drink (max 60)
* Plays a drinking animation
* Returns an '''Empty Wine Bottle''' to your backpack after consumption

Be careful — drink too much and you will become too full to drink more!

== Decorative Addons ==

Two decorative addons are available to display your winemaking prowess:

=== Bottle Rack ===

A multi-level wine bottle display rack. Place it in your house using the '''Bottle Rack''' deed. The rack spans 4 tiles with shelves at three different heights — perfect for showing off your finest vintages.

=== Keg Storage ===

A large keg storage structure with stacked barrels and casks. Place it using the '''Keg Storage''' deed. This addon spans multiple tiles and features barrels arranged at various heights for an authentic cellar look.

== Quick Reference ==

{| class="wikitable"
|-
| Keg Storage Deed || Decorative keg display || Supply NPC
|}

== Tips & Tricks ==

* Start with fruit wines (Apple, Pear, Peach) at 60.0 Alchemy to gain skill before attempting grape wines.
* Build vineyard rows using a combination of End poles, Center poles, and Branch pieces for a realistic look.
* Set your vineyard name on the Label Maker ''before'' you start crafting — it applies automatically to all wine you make while it is in your backpack.
* Grapevines regrow their grape bunches over time, so you can return to harvest again later.
* You can place vines in your yard outside your house as well as inside on vineyard ground addons.
* The supply NPC is located outside the '''back entrance to Main Street''' — look for the grapevines to find the right spot.
