Best BBQ Quest

Overview

"The Best BBQ in the Kingdom" is a beginner-friendly quest located at the New Haven Inn in Trammel. Tim the Hungry is craving Al the Butcher's famous ribs, and he needs your help gathering ingredients and running errands to make the feast happen. In return, Tim will share the bounty with you.

This quest involves talking to two NPCs, fighting two low-level creatures, and delivering items back and forth. It's a great introduction to quest mechanics for new players.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Talk to Tim the Hungry

Right-click Tim the Hungry and select the context menu option to speak with him. Tim explains that he's craving Al the Butcher's famous BBQ ribs and asks you to deliver some special BBQ Coal to Al inside the tavern.

Tim gives you two items:

• BBQ Coal — Deliver this to Al the Butcher.
• BBQ Quest Book — A handy reference that summarizes the quest steps. Double-click it anytime to review what you need to do. This book is Blessed and won't be lost on death.

Step 2: Deliver the BBQ Coal to Al the Butcher

Head inside the New Haven Inn and find Al the Butcher. Right-click Al to hear his introduction — he jokingly calls Tim "The Pest" but agrees to cook if you bring him what he needs.

Drag and drop the BBQ Coal onto Al. He will accept it, fire up the grill, and tell you he needs meat. A creature called Sauce Me (a lizardman) will spawn just outside the inn. Al asks you to kill it and bring back the Beautiful Ribs from its corpse.

Warning|Important: Do NOT use your grab/loot-all command until you have manually taken the special quest item off the corpse first. Using auto-loot may cause issues with the quest item.

Step 3: Kill the Sauce Me Lizardman

Head outside and find the Sauce Me lizardman near the inn. It has a distinctive hue and is a relatively easy fight — comparable to a standard lizardman but with slightly more health.

Kill the Sauce Me and loot the Beautiful Ribs (called "Desired Rack of Ribs" internally) from its corpse. Remember to loot the ribs manually before using any auto-loot commands.

Step 4: Deliver the Beautiful Ribs to Al

Return inside and drag and drop the Beautiful Ribs onto Al the Butcher. He's delighted with the meat, but now he needs one more thing — the secret ingredient for his BBQ sauce. He tells you to kill the Tasty Toad that has spawned outside and bring back its eyes.

Al warns you: "Whatever you do — do not tell Tim the Hungry what the Secret Ingredient is!"

Step 5: Kill the Tasty Toad

Head outside again and find the Tasty Toad near the inn. This is an easier fight than the lizardman.

Kill the Tasty Toad and loot the Secret BBQ Sauce Ingredient from its corpse. Again, loot this manually before using auto-loot.

Step 6: Deliver the Secret Ingredient to Al

Return to Al and drag and drop the Secret Ingredient onto him. Al is thrilled — he reveals that the juice from the toad's eyes is what gives his BBQ its distinctive flavor. He hands you a Feast Invitation and tells you to take it back to Tim for your reward.

Step 7: Return the Feast Invitation to Tim the Hungry

Go back outside and drag and drop the Feast Invitation onto Tim the Hungry. Tim is overjoyed and shares the feast with you.

Rewards

Upon turning in the Feast Invitation, you receive:

• 5 Ribs — Cooked food items
• Roasting Pig on a Spit Deed — A decorative house add-on deed
• 500 Gold

The BBQ Quest Book is automatically removed from your backpack when the quest is completed.

Tips

• This quest is repeatable. You can talk to Tim again to get a new BBQ Coal and start over.
• Loot quest items manually. Both the Sauce Me and Tasty Toad drop special quest items. Pick these up by hand before using any auto-loot or grab commands to avoid issues.
• Drag and drop to turn in items. This quest uses the drag-and-drop method for item turn-ins rather than a dialogue menu. Pick up the quest item and drop it directly onto the NPC.
• Stay near the inn. Both creatures spawn right outside the New Haven Inn, so you never need to travel far.
• The Roasting Pig deed is a nice house decoration. If you don't have a house yet, hold onto it — it makes a great addition to a kitchen or dining area later on.
