The Valley of One is a two-part quest chain that sends players into the Valley of Eodon to unite the five native tribes against the growing Myrmidex threat. The quest begins with a meeting between Hawkwind the Time Lord and King Blackthorn, and culminates in five challenging tribal trials — each involving a unique boss fight, puzzle, or environmental hazard. Completing the chain awards a bag containing one of several exclusive decorative rewards.

Overview

The Britannian expeditions into Eodon have destabilized the valley's ecosystem. Dragon Turtles have been hunted, tiger carcasses litter the jungle, and the Myrmidex have grown bold, feeding on the carrion to swell their numbers. Hawkwind warns King Blackthorn that the only way to stop the invasion is to unite the native Eodonian tribes — the Sakkhra, Urali, Jukari, Kurak, and Barako — against the Barrab tribe and their Myrmidex allies. You are the adventurer tasked with making this happen.

Each tribe has a High Chief or Chieftess who will only trust you after you prove yourself by completing a trial sacred to their people. These trials range from slaying fearsome creatures to surviving deadly environmental hazards to solving a puzzle under pressure.

Quest Chain

Quest 1: Time Is of the Essence

Quest Giver Hawkwind the Time Lord — Castle Blackthorn
Chain Valley of One (Quest 1 of 2)
Objective Deliver Orders from King Blackthorn to Sir Geoffrey at his camp near the Barrab Tribe in the Valley of Eodon
Reward Unlocks the next quest in the chain

Hawkwind gives you a set of sealed orders from King Blackthorn. You must deliver them to Sir Geoffrey at the Britannian Encampment in eastern Eodon. The orders are a timed quest item (6-hour lifespan), so don't delay.

Note|If you already have "Uniting the Tribes" active, Hawkwind will not offer this quest.

Quest 2: Uniting the Tribes

Quest Giver Sir Geoffrey the Guardsman — Britannian Encampment, Eodon
Chain Valley of One (Quest 2 of 2 — Final)
Objectives Earn the trust of all five Eodonian tribes by completing their individual trials and collecting the following tokens of trust:
Mosaic of Heluzz — Trust of the Sakkhra Tribe
Totem of Fabozz — Trust of the Urali Tribe
Fires of Kukuzz — Trust of the Jukari Tribe
Skull of Motazz — Trust of the Kurak Tribe
Skull of Aphazz — Trust of the Barako Tribe
Reward Unique Treasure Bag (see Rewards)

Sir Geoffrey explains that the only way to pressure the Barrab tribe is through the other Eodonian peoples. Each tribe worships a different aspect of the valley and will only join your cause after you complete a trial in their name. You must visit all five tribe leaders and complete their individual quests, then return the five tokens of trust to Sir Geoffrey.

Note|You must have either "Time Is of the Essence" completed or "Uniting the Tribes" active for Sir Geoffrey to speak with you. Otherwise he simply barks orders at his soldiers.

The five tribal trials can be completed in any order. Each is detailed below.

Tribal Trials

The Great Hunt (Sakkhra Tribe)

Quest Giver Sakkhra High Chieftess — Sakkhra Walled Village (northern Eodon, beyond the rivers)
Objective Slay 1 Tyrannosaurus Rex
Reward Mosaic of Heluzz (Trust of the Sakkhra Tribe)

The Sakkhra worship dinosaurs and will only trust a warrior who can survive a hunt against the mightiest of them all — the T-Rex. The High Chieftess directs you west to the nearby dinosaur plains.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Stat Value
Hit Points 15,000
Damage 33–55 (100% Physical)
Resistances Physical 80–90, Fire 60–80, Cold 60–70, Poison 80–100, Energy 60–70
Key Skills Wrestling 130–150, Tactics 110–130, Magic Resist 140–150, Parry 100
Poison Immune Lethal
Special Auto Dispel, Armor Ignore, Tail Swipe
Loot SuperBoss x2, Level 7 Treasure Map

Special Abilities:

  • Ground Crack Freeze — Every 45–60 seconds, the T-Rex sends tremor cracks outward in all four cardinal directions. The cracks travel along the ground and freeze any player (or player-controlled pet) who touches them for 5–10 seconds. The affected player also becomes the T-Rex's new focus target.
  • Armor Ignore — Melee hits can bypass armor.
  • Tail Swipe — Area-effect knockback ability.
  • Targets Weakest — The T-Rex prioritizes the lowest-health target in range.

Strategy Tips:

  • Stay mobile and watch the ground. When you see the blue-hued crack lines radiating outward, dodge sideways to avoid being frozen.
  • Don't cluster your group — the cracks fire in all four directions simultaneously.
  • The T-Rex targets the weakest combatant first, so keep your support characters at range or topped off on health.
  • Auto Dispel means summoned creatures will be quickly destroyed.

Empty Nest (Urali Tribe)

Quest Giver Urali High Chieftess — Urali Village (north of the beach-lined streams in southwestern Eodon)
Objective Rescue 5 Dragon Turtle Hatchlings from poachers
Reward Totem of Fabozz (Trust of the Urali Tribe)

The Urali worship the Dragon Turtle and are distressed by the theft of eggs from the nesting beaches. The High Chieftess sends you south to the Dragon Turtle nesting area to stop the poachers.

How It Works

Dragon Turtle nests with eggs are found along the southern beaches. When you approach a nest while on this quest, three Poachers will spawn and attack you. Kill all three, then wait — a Dragon Turtle Hatchling will emerge from the egg after 15–30 seconds. But you're not done yet: three more Poachers will spawn and try to kill the hatchling. Defeat this second wave to protect the hatchling, and it will safely burrow into the sand, counting as one rescue.

Repeat this process at five different nests (or wait for nests to reset with a 2–6 minute cooldown) to complete the quest. You will receive progress messages after each successful rescue.

Poachers are tough human enemies with 2,500 hit points, high combat skills, and 20–32 damage. They despawn after 10 minutes if not killed. Expect a real fight each time.

Note|If the hatchling dies during the second poacher wave, the nest is destroyed and you must find another one. Protect the hatchling at all costs.

The Great Volcano (Jukari Tribe)

Quest Giver Jukari High Chief — Jukari Village (base of the Volcano, southeastern Eodon)
Objective Recover 5 Lava Rocks from the caldera of the Great Volcano
Reward Fires of Kukuzz (Trust of the Jukari Tribe)

The Jukari worship the great Volcano and believe anyone who can survive its caldera is worthy of trust. The High Chief sends you east to mine lava rocks from within the active volcanic zone.

How It Works

To mine lava rocks, you need a pickaxe (or other mining tool) and must have Stone Mining toggled on. Head into the volcano caldera region and mine as you normally would. While on this quest, each mining attempt has a chance to produce a lava rock, but there are hazards:

  • Mining Skill Requirement — You need at least 90 Mining to have a chance at successfully extracting a lava rock.
  • Volcano Elemental — Roughly 8% of the time when mining, you'll accidentally unearth a Volcano Elemental instead. These are powerful fire-based creatures (800–1,200 HP) with Dragon Breath. Be ready to fight or run.
  • Lava Eruptions — The Volcano periodically becomes unstable. You'll receive the warning: "The Volcano is becoming unstable!" Shortly after, lava flows begin spreading outward from the center of the caldera in expanding waves. Any player caught in the lava takes 200–300 fire damage per tick. There are safe zones scattered throughout the caldera — learn their locations and run to them when the eruption starts.
  • No Recall/Gate — The Volcano region blocks normal travel magic. You cannot recall, gate, or sacred journey out. Plan your escape routes.

The eruption cycle resets after the lava reaches its maximum radius (roughly 70 stages) and the area cools down. Eruptions only trigger when players are present.

Note|Progress messages will track your lava rock count as you mine. Keep your health topped off and have a plan for eruptions.

Volcano Safe Zones

The following areas within the Volcano region are protected from lava damage. Learn their approximate locations and be ready to sprint to one when an eruption warning fires:

There are 16 safe zones scattered throughout the caldera. They are marked by slightly different terrain or elevated rock formations. Experienced players learn their positions through repeated visits. When you see the eruption warning, stop mining and head for the nearest safe zone immediately.

Pride of the Ambush (Kurak Tribe)

Quest Giver Kurak High Chief — Kurak Village (lowlands, southwestern Eodon)
Objective Rescue 5 Tiger Cubs from trapper enclosures
Reward Skull of Motazz (Trust of the Kurak Tribe)

The Kurak tribe worships the jungle tigers and is furious that trappers have been caging their cubs. The High Chief sends you south to the lowlands to free the captured cubs.

How It Works

Trapper enclosures are fenced pens found in the lowlands, each containing a Tiger Cub and protected by a locked door with a puzzle mechanism. To free a cub, double-click the enclosure door to open the Locking Mechanism puzzle gump.

The Puzzle

The puzzle is a 4x4 grid (16 cells) that you must navigate from the top-left corner (cell 0) to the bottom-right corner (cell 15) using directional controls (Up, Down, Left, Right). A hidden path through the grid has been pre-determined — you must follow it exactly.

  • Correct Move — You hear a confirmation sound and your position advances along the path.
  • Wrong Move — One of two things happens (50/50 chance):
    • Poison Dart — You take 20–40 damage and are afflicted with Deadly Poison. You'll see: "A poisonous dart embeds itself into your neck!"
    • Trapper Ambush — Three Trappers (2,500 HP each, 20–32 damage) spawn nearby and attack you.
  • Reaching Cell 15 — The enclosure unlocks and the tiger cub is freed, running back to the Kurak tribe.

If you have 100+ Lockpicking skill, an additional button appears in the puzzle gump: "Attempt to pick the enclosure lock." Clicking this reveals the next correct cell in the path, shown as a highlighted marker. This is enormously helpful for avoiding wrong moves.

Tips:

  • Bring Greater Cure Potions — wrong moves can hit you with Deadly Poison.
  • If you have high Lockpicking, use the hint button before every move.
  • The cub cannot be harmed by you (it finds your attacks too cute to acknowledge), so don't worry about accidentally hitting it.
  • Once freed, the cub walks to its home location. When it arrives, you receive quest credit and the message: "You watch as the Tiger Cub safely returns to the Kurak Tribe."

The Great Ape (Barako Tribe)

Quest Giver Barako High Chief — Barako Village (forest canopy, eastern Eodon)
Objective Defeat the Great Ape in the nearby banana cave
Reward Skull of Aphazz (Trust of the Barako Tribe)

The Barako live high in the trees and worship the gorillas. Their High Chief challenges you to battle the legendary Great Ape — a mythical giant in the banana cave to the northeast.

Great Ape

Stat Value
Hit Points 12,500
Damage 20–33 (100% Physical)
Resistances Physical 65–80, Fire 60–80, Cold 50–60, Poison 100, Energy 40–50
Key Skills Wrestling 100, Tactics 100, Magic Resist 150
Poison Immune Lethal
Special Auto Dispel
Loot SuperBoss x2, Level 7 Treasure Map

Special Abilities (every 45–60 seconds, one of the following):

  • Ground Pound (Dismount) — The Great Ape pounds the ground, causing shockwaves that dismount all nearby riders (10-tile range, 75% chance per player). Dismounted players are mount-blocked for 10 seconds and take 15–25 physical damage. You'll see: "The shaking ground damages and disorients you!"
  • Player Teleport — The ape grabs a random player and hurls them to a distant pit location within the cave. Be ready to navigate back.
  • Barrel Throw — The Great Ape picks up nearby barrels and hurls them at a random player, dealing 70–120 physical damage. This happens every 5–10 seconds as a secondary attack when barrels are within reach.

Strategy Tips:

  • Fight on Foot — Mounting is risky since the ape frequently dismounts riders. If you must ride, expect to be thrown off regularly.
  • Dodge the Barrels — The ape uses environmental objects. The further you are, the more time you have to react.
  • Bring Friends — 12,500 HP, auto dispel, and 150 Magic Resist make this a tough solo fight. The teleportation mechanic can isolate players.
  • Poison Immune — Don't bother with poison-based strategies.

Myrmidex Hills (Random Encounters)

While traveling through the tribal regions of Eodon (Jukari, Kurak, Barrab, Barako, Urali, and Sakkhra territory), there is a small chance (0.5% per step) that a Myrmidex Hill will spawn near you. These ant hills disgorge waves of 6–9 Myrmidex (a mix of Larvae, Drones, and Warriors) that attack immediately. The hill can spawn up to three waves of enemies if you remain nearby.

The Barrab tribal zone is excluded from random Myrmidex Hill spawns. These encounters are unrelated to the quest chain but are a common hazard while traveling through Eodon on foot.

Rewards

Upon returning all five tokens of trust to Sir Geoffrey, you receive a Unique Treasure Bag containing one of the following items (random):

Item Description
Lava Rock Display A decorative house item
Tiger Rug Addon Deed A placeable tiger skin rug (comes in Regular, Black [~13% chance], or White [~2% chance] hues); can be placed facing south or east
Great Ape's Banana Hoard Addon Deed A decorative banana pile available in Small, Medium, or Large sizes
Dragon Turtle Fountain Addon Deed A decorative fountain; can be placed facing south or east
Dinosaur Hunter Title Deed Grants the character title "Dinosaur Hunter"

Note|The White Tiger Rug is extremely rare (~2% drop when the rug category is rolled). The Black Tiger Rug is uncommon (~13%). Most rug drops will be the regular hue.
