Myrmidex Invasion

The Myrmidex Invasion is a multi-part quest system set in the Valley of Eodon. Players must choose an allegiance — either the Myrmidex (allied with the Barrab tribe) or the Eodonians (allied with Sir Geoffrey's Britannian encampment) — and complete a chain of quests that culminates in a boss encounter against a powerful endgame creature. Each allegiance has its own quest chain, NPCs, objectives, and final boss.

Overview

Long ago, the alien Kotl came to Eodon and created the Myrmidex as servants. The Myrmidex rebelled, and the Kotl built a great weapon called Zipactriotl to suppress them, placing it in stasis. Now the Myrmidex threaten to overrun the valley, and two factions have formed with opposing goals:

• Myrmidex Alliance (Barrab tribe) — Seeks to destroy Zipactriotl so the Myrmidex can reclaim Eodon.
• Eodonian Alliance (Britannian forces and native tribes) — Seeks to destroy the Myrmidex Queen and end the Myrmidex threat for good.

Both quest chains are repeatable, and each awards a unique reward bag upon completion.

Getting Started: Pledging Allegiance

Before any quests can be accepted, you must pledge your allegiance and prove yourself in the Myrmidex Pits, a PvE battle area where the two factions clash.

After pledging, you must participate in and win a battle in the Myrmidex Pits before the quest NPCs will offer you quests. The Myrmidex Pit entrances are faction-locked — you can only enter through the door matching your allegiance.

Note|You cannot hold both allegiances at the same time. Switching allegiance will require you to re-qualify for the new faction's quests.

Myrmidex Alliance Quest Chain

This quest chain is offered by Yar the Barrab Tinker in the Barrab Village (southwestern Eodon). Its goal is to recover lost Kotl technology, reactivate a Stasis Chamber, and ultimately destroy Zipactriotl so the Myrmidex may rule the valley.

Quest 1: The Zealotry of Zipactriotl

Yar tasks you with recovering four Kotl technology components needed to bring the Stasis Chamber online. Each component is obtained by completing a separate sub-quest from a different NPC, or purchased from a vendor. You must collect all four and return them to Yar.

Sub-Quest: Hidden Treasures

Reward	A Special Treasure Map leading to the Stasis Chamber Activator

Carroll will give you a special Treasure Map upon completion. Decode and dig up this map as you would any treasure map — the chest will contain the Stasis Chamber Activator. The map label reads: "A Special Map Thought to Lead to Lost Kotl Technology."

Sub-Quest: The Salty Sea

Reward	A Special Message in a Bottle leading to the Stasis Chamber Regulator

The kills must occur in the South Britannian Sea region (the waters south of the Britannian continent, between Jhelom and the Isle of Valor). Use special fishing nets if you have trouble finding the creatures. The special MIB, when opened, produces a special SOS — fish up the shipwreck to recover the Stasis Chamber Regulator. The MIB label reads: "Coordinates to a Shipwreck thought to have Lost Kotl Technology."

Sub-Quest: A Tinker's Task

This is a straightforward crafting-materials fetch quest. Stock up before visiting Eriathwen to save travel time.

Quest 2: The Destruction of Zipactriotl

Objective	Slay Zipactriotl in the Kotl Antechamber inside the Great Pyramid

Once you have delivered all four Stasis Chamber components, Yar sends you to destroy Zipactriotl. Double-click the Idol of Zipactriotl (located at the Great Pyramid in Eodon) to teleport to the Kotl Antechamber where the boss awaits. You must have this quest active to use the idol.

Eodonian Alliance Quest Chain

This quest chain is offered by Ellie Rafkin ("the Professor") at Sir Geoffrey's Camp in the Britannian Encampment (eastern Eodon). Its goal is to obtain the tools needed to assault the Myrmidex Queen deep within the Myrmidex Pits.

Quest 1: Exterminating the Infestation

Professor Rafkin explains that to reach and defeat the Myrmidex Queen, you need a pheromone for safe passage, an insecticide powerful enough to harm her, and a population report proving the colony's numbers have been thinned enough to force the Queen into the open. Each item is obtained from a separate sub-quest.

Alida's garden is being destroyed by a vorpal bunny. Plant a Green Thorn in the garden dirt to lure it out, then slay it. The kill must happen within the Delucia area.

Sub-Quest: Getting Even

Reward	Bottle of Concentrated Insecticide

Yero is a down-on-his-luck gambler who wants revenge on the casino. You must travel to the Fortune's Fire Casino on Fire Island and win 9 total games (3 per game type). Progress is tracked per game — you'll receive system messages as you win each round. All wins must occur while inside the Casino region.

Sub-Quest: Pest Control

The kills must occur on the surface of the Valley of Eodon — kills inside the Myrmidex Pits do not count. Hunt down Myrmidex across the valley to thin their numbers and force the Queen to reveal herself.

Quest 2: Insecticide and Regicide

The entrance to the Queen's chamber is in the sandy valley to the west. You must have this quest active to pass through the teleporter leading to the Queen's lair.

Zipactriotl (Boss Encounter)

Zipactriotl is a powerful Kotl construct encountered at the end of the Myrmidex Alliance quest chain.

Special Abilities

• Teleport Strike — Zipactriotl can teleport to players who have unmounted pets nearby (roughly every 15 seconds, 33% chance). Keep your pets close.
• Mana Drain Pulse — Periodically drains all mana from every player within 4 tiles and displays: "Your mana is converted to pure energy!" followed by a devastating energy shockwave that knocks players back up to 15 tiles and deals 100–150 energy damage.
• Rampage — Uses the Rampage skill mastery, increasing its damage output over time.
• Weapon Abilities — Disarm and Paralyzing Blow are both active.

Strategy Tips

• Bring Cure Potions — Zipactriotl is immune to parasitic poison but does not inflict it; however, the fight area may contain hazards.
• Spread Out — The mana drain pulse and energy shockwave hit in an area around the boss. Don't cluster.
• Watch Your Mana — Casters should expect to have their mana zeroed periodically. Bring mana potions or rely on physical damage.
• Mind Your Pets — Zipactriotl specifically targets players with unmounted pets for its teleport attack.
• Group Recommended — With 60,000 HP and high resistances, this is a group encounter.

Myrmidex Queen (Boss Encounter)

The Myrmidex Queen is encountered at the end of the Eodonian Alliance quest chain, deep within the Myrmidex Pits.

Special Abilities

• Egg Throw — Every 90–120 seconds, the Queen hurls eggs in all 8 directions. Each egg hatches into a Myrmidex Warrior, Drone, or Larvae after 2–3 seconds. These adds persist until killed or the Queen dies.
• Noxious Goo (Spit Ooze) — Targets players within 7 tiles and coats the ground around them in toxic goo. Walking through the goo deals 40–60 poison damage and has a 60% chance to inflict Parasitic Poison. The goo persists for 20–30 seconds.
• Rock Drop — Drops boulders from above onto a random player within 12 tiles, dealing 80–100 physical damage and reducing movement speed for 5 seconds. Displays: "Crunch Crunch Crunch."
• Rising Rocks — Raises a line of rock columns in a cardinal direction toward a target player. Anyone caught in the area is frozen for 2 seconds, suffers a bleed effect, and takes 100–110 physical damage. Displays: "Rising columns of rock rip through your flesh and concuss you!"

Strategy Tips

• Bring Poison Cures — The Queen's melee hits and her goo both inflict Parasitic Poison. Stock up on Greater Cure Potions.
• Stay Mobile — Avoid standing in the noxious goo puddles. Keep moving when you see them appear.
• Kill the Adds — Egg-hatched minions will overwhelm the group if ignored. Assign someone to handle spawned adds.
• Avoid the Rock Line — When you see a directional rock eruption forming, move perpendicular to it to avoid the freeze and bleed.
• Group Recommended — Like Zipactriotl, this is a 60,000 HP boss with punishing mechanics. Bring a full group.
