Each boss kill also accumulates points toward a chance at a special artifact reward from the Tamer's Gauntlet reward table. This system uses the same formula as the Doom Gauntlet — your chance of receiving an artifact is not a flat percentage per kill, but instead grows over time as you accumulate points.

'''How points accumulate:''' When you land the killing blow on a gauntlet boss (or are credited as a top damager), you receive points based on that boss's Fame value, modified by your character's Luck stat. Higher Fame bosses award more points, and higher Luck increases the amount further. The later bosses in the gauntlet sequence have progressively higher Fame, so killing Beastmaster Kael awards significantly more points than killing the Feral Packmother.
'''How the artifact chance works:''' After each kill, the system calculates your chance of receiving an artifact using an exponential formula based on your total accumulated points. At low point totals the chance is very small, but it rises steeply as points build up. This means your first few kills will rarely produce an artifact, but as you continue running the gauntlet over multiple sessions, each subsequent kill has an increasingly better chance — until eventually the odds tip heavily in your favor.
'''What happens when you get a drop:''' When the roll succeeds and an artifact drops, it is placed directly in your backpack (or your bank box if your pack is full). Your accumulated points then reset to zero, and the cycle begins again. The Tamer's Gauntlet
MADON DARNASSIAN — A CHALLENGE FOR THE WORTHY

Overview

The Tamer's Gauntlet is a sequential boss dungeon located in Madon Darnassian, designed for experienced tamers and their companions. Six increasingly powerful beast-lords await within its chambers, each guarding passage to the next.

Defeat them all to earn exclusive rewards found nowhere else — items that enhance your breeding, training, and bonding capabilities.

This dungeon follows the same structure as the Doom Gauntlet: six locked rooms that cycle in sequence. Boss difficulty scales with the number of players present.

How It Works

The gauntlet operates as a cycle of six locked chambers. Only one chamber is active at a time.

  1. Enter the active chamber. The doors lock behind you and a boss spawns based on how many players are present (one boss per five players, minimum one).
  2. Defeat all spawned creatures in the room. The chamber doors unlock and the next room becomes active.
  3. Proceed to the next chamber. The cycle continues through all six bosses, then loops back to the beginning.

Important notes:

  • Traps spawn throughout each active chamber — saw traps, spike traps, gas vents, fire columns, and mushroom traps litter the floor.
  • A Healer is available near the entrance for 5,000 gold per resurrection.
  • A Supply Dealer (Elara, the Beast Supplies Dealer) offers goods within the gauntlet.
  • If more players enter mid-fight, additional bosses may spawn to match the player count. This is the same scaling behavior as the Doom Gauntlet.
  • If you die and return, the boss will still be there — it does not reset.

The Bosses

Each boss is significantly more powerful than the creatures of the Doom Gauntlet. Bring friends and bring your strongest pets. All bosses are bard immune, auto-dispel summons, and are immune to lethal poison.

Boss I: Feral Packmother

Stat Value
Hit Points 12,000 – 15,000
Damage 22 – 32 (Physical/Cold)
Resists Phys 55-65, Fire 30-40, Cold 60-70, Poison 40-50, Energy 35-45

A massive dragon wolf that commands her pack through blood and fury.

Abilities:

  • Howl of the Pack — At 50% health, summons 2-3 temporary Rabid Wolves to fight alongside her. Wolves despawn after 30 seconds. Creates a visible air shockwave when howling.
  • Savage Leap — Teleports to distant targets (range 2-12) and strikes with burst damage (40-60). Leaves an earth impact at the landing point. 20 second cooldown.

Boss II: Venomous Broodqueen

Stat Value
Hit Points 14,000 – 17,000
Damage 20 – 30 (Physical/Poison)
Resists Phys 50-60, Fire 25-35, Cold 30-40, Poison 80-90, Energy 40-50
Hit Poison Lethal

An ancient spider matriarch saturated with lethal venom.

Abilities:

  • Venom Spray — Blankets the area (6 tiles) in a directional cloud of lethal poison, dealing poison damage and applying Lethal Poison to everyone hit. Creates a visible poison wave. 25 second cooldown.
  • Brood Burst — At 40% health, her egg sac ruptures and releases 3-5 Dread Spiders. Spiderlings despawn after 45 seconds. 40 second cooldown.

Boss III: Primal Behemoth

Stat Value
Hit Points 16,000 – 20,000
Damage 28 – 38 (Physical/Fire)
Resists Phys 65-75, Fire 50-60, Cold 25-35, Poison 50-60, Energy 30-40

A primordial beast whose charge can send warriors flying.

Abilities:

  • Gore Charge — Targets players at range (2-10 tiles), rushes to their location with a fire wave trail, and deals 50-75 physical damage with knockback (3 tiles). Earth explosion on impact. 15 second cooldown.
  • Earth Stomp — Shakes the ground in an 8-tile radius, dealing 25-40 physical damage to everyone nearby. 30% chance to paralyze for 2 seconds. Creates a visible earth explosion and dust cloud. 30 second cooldown.

Tip: Stay close to the Behemoth to avoid being targeted by Gore Charge. The knockback can send you into traps.

Boss IV: Spectral Wyrm

Stat Value
Hit Points 18,000 – 22,000
Damage 25 – 35 (Physical/Cold/Energy)
Resists Phys 60-70, Fire 20-30, Cold 70-80, Poison 70-80, Energy 50-60
Special Dragon Breath

An undead dragon that breathes frost and feeds on the living.

Abilities:

  • Dragon Breath — Standard dragon breath attack (built-in).
  • Soul Drain — Drains 50-80 life from all players within 10 tiles (Cold/Energy damage), then heals itself for the total amount drained. Creates an energy pulse that expands outward, then a reversed implosion that pulls energy back toward the wyrm. Visible life drain beams from each victim. 35 second cooldown.

Tip: Burst damage is more effective than sustained pressure. The Wyrm heals itself from Soul Drain, so you need to outdamage its healing.

Boss V: Ancient Beast Lord

Stat Value
Hit Points 20,000 – 24,000
Damage 26 – 36 (Physical/Poison/Energy)
Resists Phys 60-70, Fire 40-50, Cold 40-50, Poison 80-90, Energy 55-65
Hit Poison Lethal

A massive serpentine creature with a roar that shakes your resolve.

Abilities:

  • Primal Roar — Drains 30-50 stamina from all players within 10 tiles. Creates a tornado effect and air shockwave expanding from the beast. 30 second cooldown.
  • Constrict — Wraps its coils around a melee-range target, freezing them for 4 seconds while dealing 15-25 damage per second (4 ticks). Poison burst effect on the final tick. 15 second cooldown.

Boss VI: Beastmaster Kael (Final Boss)

Stat Value
Hit Points 25,000 – 30,000
Damage 22 – 32 (Physical/Energy)
Resists Phys 65-75, Fire 50-60, Cold 50-60, Poison 60-70, Energy 65-75
Title The Corrupted Tamer

Once a master tamer, now twisted by dark power. Beastmaster Kael commands enslaved beasts and wields an enchanted whip. He is the most dangerous foe in the gauntlet.

Abilities:

  • Summon Beasts — At health thresholds, Kael summons progressively stronger creatures with a Fire Pentagram summoning circle:
    • Phase 1 (80% HP): 3 Rabid Wolves + 2 Rabid Pigs
    • Phase 2 (55% HP): 1 Dragon + 2 Shadow Dragons
    • Phase 3 (30% HP): 1 Greater Dragon + 1 Frost Dragon — accompanied by a Tornado effect
    • All summoned creatures despawn after 60 seconds if not killed.
  • Beast Whip — Ranged dual-projectile whip attack dealing 35-55 damage (Physical/Energy). 25% chance to stun for 2 seconds. 12 second cooldown.
  • Fire Wave — Directional cone of fire and energy dealing 30-50 damage to everyone in the blast path. Creates a visible Fire Wave and Energy Wave. 18 second cooldown.
  • Dark Mending — At 25% health, heals himself for 10% of max HP by drawing power from his beasts. Creates a reversed energy implosion pulling inward. 60 second cooldown.

Tip: Save your strongest heals and burst damage for Phase 3 at 30% HP. The Greater Dragon and Frost Dragon combined with Kael's own attacks can easily overwhelm an unprepared group.

Rewards

Guaranteed: Pet Powerscroll Credits

Every boss kill awards 20 Pet Powerscroll Credits directly to your backpack. These can be spent at the Pet Powerscroll Exchange.

Points-Based Artifact System

Each boss kill also accumulates points toward a chance at a special artifact reward from the Tamer's Gauntlet reward table. This system uses the same formula as the Doom Gauntlet — your chance of receiving an artifact is not a flat percentage per kill, but instead grows over time as you accumulate points.

How points accumulate: When you land the killing blow on a gauntlet boss (or are credited as a top damager), you receive points based on that boss's Fame value, modified by your character's Luck stat. Higher Fame bosses award more points, and higher Luck increases the amount further. The later bosses in the gauntlet sequence have progressively higher Fame, so killing Beastmaster Kael awards significantly more points than killing the Feral Packmother.

How the artifact chance works: After each kill, the system calculates your chance of receiving an artifact using an exponential formula based on your total accumulated points. At low point totals the chance is very small, but it rises steeply as points build up. This means your first few kills will rarely produce an artifact, but as you continue running the gauntlet over multiple sessions, each subsequent kill has an increasingly better chance — until eventually the odds tip heavily in your favor.

What happens when you get a drop: When the roll succeeds and an artifact drops, it is placed directly in your backpack (or your bank box if your pack is full). Your accumulated points then reset to zero, and the cycle begins again. The artifact is randomly selected from the reward table below, with an additional chance of receiving a runic-reforged piece of equipment instead of a table item.

Key details:

  • Points accumulate with each kill based on the boss's Fame and your Luck.
  • Higher accumulated points = exponentially higher chance of an artifact dropping.
  • When an artifact drops, your points reset to zero.
  • Your points persist across runs — even if you don't get a drop on one session, your next kill has a higher chance. Log off and come back tomorrow; your points are still there.
  • Luck also influences the quality of runic-reforged artifact drops.

Tips for Survival

  • Bring cure potions and cured pets. Several bosses deal lethal poison, and the Broodqueen's venom spray hits everything in range including pets.
  • Watch Kael's health thresholds. His summoned creatures jump dramatically in power at each phase. The Phase 3 Greater Dragon + Frost Dragon combination at 30% is the most dangerous moment in the entire gauntlet.
  • Stay close to the Behemoth. Gore Charge only targets players at range (2-10 tiles). Standing in melee range avoids the charge entirely.
  • Burst the Spectral Wyrm. Its Soul Drain heals it for all damage dealt to players. Sustained pressure just feeds it. Coordinate burst damage windows between Soul Drain cooldowns.
  • Manage stamina against the Beast Lord. Primal Roar drains 30-50 stamina. Bring stamina potions or have high stamina regeneration, or you won't be able to swing.
  • Group size matters. One boss spawns per five players. A coordinated group of five is the sweet spot — solo is doable but punishing, and large groups can spawn multiple bosses simultaneously.
  • Your points carry over. Even if you don't get an artifact on one run, your accumulated points increase your chance on the next kill. Keep running the gauntlet.
  • Equip the Whip of the Beastcaller during runs. Your pets will gain bonus XP from every creature they help kill, including the bosses and their summoned adds.

Location

The Tamer's Gauntlet is located in Madon Darnassian. The dungeon uses the same coordinates as the Doom Gauntlet but on the Madon map.

An exit moongate is available within the gauntlet to return to the surface.
