The Enhanced Runebook is a Banes World exclusive item that replaces the need to carry stacks of traditional runebooks. It can store up to 5,000 marked recall runes in a single book, complete with search, sorting, filtering by category and map, and one-click travel via Recall, Gate Travel, or Sacred Journey.
Obtaining
The Enhanced Runebook is a high-end Inscription craft item. It cannot be purchased from NPC vendors and must be crafted by a skilled scribe.
Crafting Requirements
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Skill | Inscription — 120.0 (Grandmaster+Legendary) |
| Crafting Tool | Scribe's Pen (or equivalent) |
| Special Gear | Inscription crafting gear obtained as rewards from Inscription Bulk Order Deeds |
| Materials | See the Inscription crafting menu for material costs |
Finding a Crafter
If you are not a scribe yourself, check the following:
- Ask in general chat for a crafter with 120 Inscription and the required BOD reward gear.
- Check player vendor shops — some scribes sell pre-made Enhanced Runebooks.
- Visit the Banes World community boards or Discord for crafter listings.
Basic Usage
Double-click the Enhanced Runebook to open the interface. The book must be within 3 tiles of your character to open, and has a 7-second cooldown between travel uses.
Adding Runes
There are three ways to add runes to the book:
| Method | How To | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Drag & Drop | Drag a marked recall rune onto the book | Rune is consumed and stored |
| Absorb Runebook | Drag a standard Runebook onto the Enhanced Runebook | All runes transfer over; the old runebook is destroyed |
| Fill from Pack | Right-click the book → "Fill from pack" | Adds all marked runes from your backpack at once |
Removing Runes
To remove a rune and place it back in your backpack as a physical Recall Rune, click the X (drop) button next to any rune entry in the list. You must have room in your backpack.
Renaming the Book
Right-click the book in your backpack and select "Set Book Name". Names can be up to 40 characters long.
The Interface
The Enhanced Runebook opens a wide gump window with several sections:
Search Bar
At the top of the window you will find a text search field. Type any keyword and press Apply to filter the rune list. The search checks:
- Rune description/name
- Category name
- Map name
Press Clear to remove the search filter.
Category Filter
Below the search bar are two rows of category filter buttons. Click any category to show only runes assigned to that category. Click the same category again to deactivate the filter.
The built-in categories are:

Map Filter
A row of map buttons lets you filter runes by facet:
- Trammel
- Felucca
- Ilshenar
- Malas
- Tokuno
- Ter Mur
Click a map name to show only runes marked in that facet. Click it again to remove the filter. You can combine a category filter with a map filter (e.g., show only "Dungeons" in "Malas").
Press Clear (appears when any filter is active) to remove all category and map filters at once.
Column Sorting
The rune list has sortable columns. Click the small arrow button next to a column header to sort:
| Column | Sorts By |
|---|---|
| Rune Name | Alphabetical by rune description |
| Category | Groups runes by category |
| Map | Groups runes by facet |
Click the same column again to reverse the sort direction (ascending ↔ descending). An indicator (^ or v) appears next to the active sort column.
Rune List Columns
Each rune entry in the list displays:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Sel | Select button — highlights the rune (cosmetic selection) |

Custom Categories
The Enhanced Runebook includes three custom category slots (Custom 1, Custom 2, Custom 3) that you can rename to suit your needs.
Renaming Custom Categories
- Click the * (set category) button on any rune to open the Category Selection window.
- At the bottom of the window, you will see text fields for Custom 1, Custom 2, and Custom 3.
- Type your desired name (up to 20 characters) and click Save Names.
Example uses:
- "Guild Hall" — for guild-related locations
- "Boss Spawns" — for champion spawn or boss fight locations
- "Farming Runs" — for resource gathering routes
- "Quest NPCs" — for quest-related locations
Assigning a Category
- Click the * button next to any rune in the main list.
- The Category Selection window shows all available categories.
- Click the desired category — the currently assigned category is highlighted.
- You are returned to the main runebook view.
Ship Runes
The Enhanced Runebook fully supports galleon (ship) runes. When a ship rune is stored:
- The Coordinates column shows "At Sea"
- The Rune Name displays the ship owner's name and ship name (e.g., "Banethorn's ship, the Sea Serpent")
- The rune dynamically tracks the ship's current location — wherever the ship moves, the rune follows
Pagination
The rune list displays 12 entries per page. Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom to navigate. The status bar shows your current position:
Showing 1-12 of 347 runes (Total: 500)
The "Total" count reflects all runes in the book, while the filtered count reflects any active search or filter results.
Tips & Strategies
- Organize early — Take a moment to assign categories as you add runes. It pays off when you have hundreds of locations saved.
- Use search for quick travel — If you know the name of where you want to go, type it in the search bar rather than scrolling through pages.
- Absorb old runebooks — Drag your existing standard runebooks onto the Enhanced Runebook to consolidate everything into one item.
- Fill from Pack — After a rune-marking session, right-click and "Fill from pack" to bulk-add all your new runes at once.
- Custom categories for routes — Name your custom categories after farming routes or activity types for fast filtering.
- Combine filters — Use category + map filters together. For example, filter to "Resources" + "Trammel" to see only your Trammel resource spots.
- The book is Blessed — You will not lose it on death. Keep it in your backpack at all times for convenient travel.
Capacity
| Item | Capacity |
