The Ancient Blacksmith is a custom champion spawn found in Felucca at The Crossroads. Unlike the standard champions, this spawn is themed entirely around the forge and rewards successful raiders with Level Increase Scrolls used to raise the maximum level cap on Levelable Items. The champion himself is Ragnar, the Ancient Blacksmith.
Overview
The Ancient Blacksmith spawn follows the normal champion progression: clear the lower-rank creatures to fill the red skulls, advance through the levels, and once the altar is fully charged the champion spawns. Defeating Ragnar awards both his standard ultra-rich loot and a batch of Level Increase Scrolls distributed among the players who earned looting rights.
Because this is a Felucca spawn, all the usual Felucca champion rules apply: the area is dangerous, the loot is cursed (it drops on death), and there is no safe-logout — dead players are relocated to the nearest shrine.

This is an open-world spawn, so expect PvP. Other players can and will contest the spawn, so come prepared to defend yourself as well as fight the creatures.
The Spawn Ladder
Creatures spawn in four ranks. As you clear enough of the current rank, white skulls fill and the spawn advances a level; red skulls track your overall progress toward the champion.

Only creatures of the current rank count toward filling the bar, so focus on the appropriate tier as the spawn advances rather than chasing stragglers from earlier levels.
The Champion: Ragnar, the Ancient Blacksmith
Ragnar is a melee bruiser with a heavy warhammer and a smith's resilience. He is bard immune, cannot be made to flee, auto-dispels summons, and is immune to poison up to lethal.
Combat Notes

- Damage: 22–35, split 50% Physical / 50% Poison
- Weapon Abilities: randomly uses Mortal Strike, Bleed Attack, or Armor Ignore
- Bard Immune: yes — peacemaking, provocation, and discord will not work
- Auto Dispel: yes — summoned creatures (and Energy Vortexes, Blade Spirits, etc.) will be dispelled, so don't rely on them
- Cannot Flee: he will stand and fight to the end
- Poison Immune: immune up to Lethal poison

His standout weakness is that poison is useless against him (100% resist), and his physical resist is very high. Bring energy, fire, or cold damage rather than relying on physical or poison.
Tactics
- Watch for Mortal Strike — it blocks healing for its duration, so keep cure/heal cycles ready and consider stepping out until it wears off.
- Bleed Attack applies damage over time; Armor Ignore lands a big hit that bypasses your resistances. Keep your health buffer high.
- Since he's bard immune and auto-dispels, this is a straight DPS-and-survive fight. Coordinate a tank to hold aggro while ranged/casters apply elemental damage.
- He hits hard in melee with high physical/poison damage — wear balanced resists and don't tank him with a glass-cannon build.
Rewards
Level Increase Scrolls
The signature reward of this spawn. On death, Ragnar distributes 5 Level Increase Scrolls among players who have looting rights (alive, within range, and on the same map). The scrolls are handed out randomly across eligible players, so even a single raider may receive several.
Each scroll raises the maximum level cap on a levelable item (weapon, or shield) by a rolled amount:

Using a scroll: double-click it and target the levelable item in your pack. The item's max level increases by the scroll's value, up to the server's overall level cap. If applying the scroll would push the item past the cap, you'll be told the level is already too high and the scroll is not consumed.
Standard Loot
In addition to the scrolls, Ragnar carries UltraRich loot and standard champion rewards (gold, and for Felucca champions, the chance at Power Scrolls and Scroll of Transcendences through the normal champion system).
Tips for Raiders
- Come with elemental damage. Physical and poison are largely wasted on Ragnar.
- Earn your looting rights. Scrolls only go to players with valid looting rights who are alive and in range when he dies — don't hang back the whole fight.
- Expect company. This is open Felucca; rival raiders are part of the challenge.
- Mind the cursed loot. Anything you pick up here drops on death, and dying in the region sends you to the nearest shrine.
- Save your scrolls for high-value gear. Since the cap is shared across the item's level, plan which weapon or armor piece is worth raising before burning a Legendary (+20) scroll.
