Banes World uses a custom Claim/Grab Loot System (based on Xanthos's Claim System) that streamlines looting so you spend less time managing corpses and more time fighting. This page explains how to set it up and use it effectively.

Your Loot Bags

When you start, your character will have two special bags in their backpack:

Bag Color Purpose
Loot Bag Blue (Hue 1266) Stores all non-gold items from your loot list. This bag is blessed. Single click on this bag to access the loot menu
Gold Bag Gold Automatically collects all gold. This bag is weightless and blessed — gold will never weigh you down. Single click on this bag to deposit your gold to your bank account.

Setting Up Your Loot List

Before you head out, you'll want to configure which items the system should automatically pick up for you:

  1. Single-click your blue Loot Bag to open the context menu.
  2. Select the option to open the Loot Types menu.
  3. Check the item types you want to automatically collect — hides, reagents, gems, weapons, armor, artifacts, and more.
  4. Single Click your gold bag to deposit the gold directly into your bank account!

Any item type on your list will be pulled directly into your Loot Bag when you claim or grab. Gold is always collected automatically regardless of your list settings.

Tip: If you plan to use [claim -c for carving (see below), make sure hides and leather are added to your loot list, otherwise they'll be carved but left on the corpse.

Loot Commands

[claim — Single Target Loot

Targets a single corpse and loots it.

Command What It Does
[claim Loots gold, all items on your loot list, and any artifacts from the targeted corpse. Awards a gold bonus for fully clearing the corpse.
[claim -c Does everything above plus carves the corpse first, collecting hides and leather before looting. Great for tamers, leather workers, and anyone who doesn't want to carry a bladed item. Be sure hides/leather are on your loot list.

[claim has a reach radius of 15 tiles (10 tiles in competitive areas), so you don't need to be standing directly on top of the corpse.

  1. Recommended to hot key these commands via the paperdoll interface under options.

[grab — Area Loot

Loots all corpses in a radius around your character in a single command.

  • Collects gold into your Gold Bag, loot list items into your Loot Bag, and awards gold bonuses for each corpse cleared.
  • Works within a 5-tile radius around your character.
  • Excellent for champion spawns and other high-density fights — one command cleans up the entire area.

Important: [grab has a proximity safety check. If another player is within range of a corpse, it will not loot that corpse to prevent disputes over contested kills. This keeps group play fair without needing to sort out who killed what.

Gold on the Ground

[grab can also pick up loose gold piles on the ground, which is especially useful during champion spawns where gold can scatter. The same proximity safety check applies — it won't scoop gold near other players.

Gold Bonus

Every time you fully clear a corpse using [claim or [grab, you receive a bonus gold reward on top of whatever gold the creature dropped. The bonus scales with the creature's fame — tougher monsters yield a bigger bonus. This provides a meaningful incentive to use the claim system rather than just cherry-picking items.

Felucca Bonus

Carving corpses in Felucca yields double the hides

Using Third-Party Loot Tools

The claim/grab system is completely optional. You are welcome to use any external looting tools you prefer, including:

  • Razor Enhanced scavenger and loot agents
  • UOSteam loot systems
  • Any other client-side looting automation

The claim/grab system is designed to work alongside these tools without conflict, so you can mix and match as you see fit.
