The Banes World Casino

Think you've got what it takes to beat the house? The Banes World Casino is the premier destination for gambling, games of chance, and a good stiff drink after a long dungeon crawl. Whether you're a seasoned card shark or a first-time slot puller, there's something here for everyone — and the house would love to take your gold either way.

Getting There

The Casino is located just east of Main Street. You can also find it listed under the Favorites tab on the World Omniporter portal for quick access from anywhere in the world.

Once you've made your fortune (or spent it), head up to the roof to access the House Portal System and travel to your next destination.

Amenities

The Casino isn't just about gambling. While you're there, take advantage of:

  • The Bar — Belly up and let the barmaids serve you a drink. A good adventurer never gambles on an empty stomach.
  • The Banker — Got a big win? Don't haul all that gold around. The on-site banker can deposit your winnings directly to your account so you can head back to the tables light on your feet.

The Games

TurboSlots

The Casino floor features a full bank of TurboSlot machines, each with its own unique theme, symbols, and jackpot structure. Double-click any active machine to take a seat and start spinning.

How to Play

  • Each spin costs gold based on the machine's cost setting (typically 100 gp per spin, though some themed machines vary).
  • Match three symbols across the pay line to win. The more valuable the symbol, the bigger the payout.
  • Walk away from the machine at any time — your winnings are automatically cashed out if you leave the area.

Slot Themes

Each machine has its own personality and prize pool. Current themes on the floor include:

Theme Description
Classic Modeled after real Las Vegas slots. A timeless choice.
Classic II A second take on the Vegas classic experience.
Classic III The third and most refined Vegas-style variation.
Farmer Faceoff A nickel-style low-stakes machine with a barnyard theme.
Gruesome Gambling A creepy machine that may bleed you — literally — and toss out bones. High risk, high reward.
Holiday A festive Christmas-themed slot for the season.
Lady Luck Top prizes include rare Lucky items: robes, cloaks, and sashes.
Miner Madness The fan favourite. Features the Miner Madness Bonus Round (see below).
Off to the Races A low-cost machine with a racing theme. Great for casual play.
Pirates Arr, mateys. 10gp per spin, with a pirate ship model as the top prize.
Power Scrolls A colorful machine whose symbols and top prize rotate every 4 hours. Check back often!
Stat Scrolls Features the Harrower. Watch out — this one bites, and it's even more dangerous in Felucca.
Tailor Treats Barbed runic kits as the top prize. A crafter's dream.
Trophy Hunter Uses animal trophy mounts as symbols. A hunter's paradise.

Special Features

Several machines offer advanced features that can dramatically increase your winnings:

  • Any Bars — Some machines pay out if you match any three of the bar-tier symbols, even if they don't match each other exactly. Check the pay table.
  • Scatter Pay — Certain symbols pay out even when they don't land on the pay line. One or two scatter symbols anywhere on the reels can still put gold in your pocket.
  • Progressive Jackpots — Some machines are linked together into a progressive pool. Every spin on any linked machine adds to the jackpot, which can grow to staggering amounts. Look for the (Progressive) label on the pay table gump.
  • Jackpot Item Rewards — Some top jackpots award rare items in addition to (or instead of) gold.

Pay Table

Every machine has a Pay Table button in the slot gump. Always check it before playing — it shows every symbol combination and its payout so you know exactly what you're aiming for.

The Miner Madness Bonus Round

Hit three Miner symbols on the pay line and you'll trigger the Miner Madness Bonus Round, the most exciting feature on the floor.

A grid of nine mining locations appears. Each hides either a gold reward or a lump of coal.

  1. Click a location to mine it.
  2. If you find gold, the amount is added to your bonus total and you keep mining.
  3. If you find coal, the round ends and you walk away with whatever you've accumulated.
  4. Keep mining until you hit coal or clear all the gold spots — whichever comes first.

Bonus prizes range from 50 to 50,000 gold, with one lucky spot occasionally hiding the 50,000 gp motherlode. The machine overhead announces your total bonus payout when the round ends.

Tips for Slots

  • Low-cost machines like Pirates (10gp) and Farmer Faceoff are great for stretching a small bankroll.
  • The Power Scrolls machine changes prizes every 4 hours — time your play to catch the best rotation.
  • Progressive jackpots are worth chasing. Check the pay table to see the current linked jackpot value.
  • Walk away a winner — your credits cash out automatically when you leave, so there's no need to bet it all on the last spin.

Blackjack

Classic casino Blackjack is available at the card tables. The goal is simple: get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over.

Bet Limits

Bet limits vary by table. Minimums start as low as 10 gp and maximums reach up to 500 gp. Choose a table that matches your bankroll.

Rules of the Table

  • The dealer hits on soft 17 (an Ace and a Six).
  • Blackjack (an Ace and a face card on the opening deal) pays 3:2.
  • Insurance is offered when the dealer shows an Ace.
  • Double Down options depend on the table — some allow doubling on any two cards, others restrict it to specific totals (9-11, 10-11, or 11 only).
  • Splitting pairs is supported. Aces can be split at most tables, though a 21 from split aces counts as 21, not Blackjack, and pays even money.
  • Double After Split is available at most tables.

Tips for Blackjack

  • Always assume the dealer's hidden card is a 10.
  • Never take insurance — over time it's a losing side bet.
  • Double down on 11 whenever you can; it's one of the strongest plays in the game.
  • If the dealer shows a 4, 5, or 6, stand on anything 12 or higher and let them bust.

HiLo Cards

A fast-paced card guessing game. Simple premise, surprising depth.

How to Play

  1. Place your bet (100 gp to 25,000 gp depending on the machine configuration).
  2. A card is revealed. Guess whether the next card will be Higher or Lower.
  3. Guess correctly and your streak continues. Guess wrong and you lose your bet.
  4. Complete the full streak to collect your multiplied winnings.

Win Multipliers

The longer your streak, the bigger the multiplier. Machines are typically configured for streaks of 4 or more correct guesses, and multipliers scale as follows:

Streak Length Multiplier
2 1.5x
3 2.25x
4 3.25x
5 4.75x
6 6.80x
7 10.0x
8 14.5x
9 20.0x
10 30.0x

Tips for HiLo

  • A 2 is almost always going to be followed by a higher card. Bet big on obvious calls.
  • A King or Ace at the top of the deck is your best friend for "Lower" predictions.
  • Mid-range cards (6–8) are the risky calls — the odds are nearly 50/50.
  • Cash out early on a hot streak. Greed has ended many a winning run.

Deal or No Deal

The Casino's most theatrical game, hosted by none other than Howie Mandel himself.

How to Play

  1. Walk up to Howie and say play to hear the rules.
  2. Drop 5,000 gold on Howie to start a game.
  3. The bank will make you an offer. Say Deal to accept, or drop the offer amount in gold on Howie to say No Deal and continue.
  4. Each round the bank's offer grows as your pot builds. After 10 rounds of offers, the final prize is revealed.
  5. Beat the bank and walk away with a big payday. Let the bank win and you'll at least get something for your trouble.

Rules to Know

  • You must stay within range of Howie. Wander too far and the game ends with nothing paid out — so don't get distracted by the slot machines mid-game.
  • If you give Howie too much gold, the overpayment is automatically returned to your backpack.
  • Prizes over 60,000 gold are paid out as a Bank Check to avoid encumbrance.
  • Only one player can be in a game at a time. If a game is in progress, wait your turn.

Tips for Deal or No Deal

  • The bank's early offers are stingy. Hold out through the first few rounds before considering a deal.
  • The final round is a gamble — the prize is randomized from what's in the pot, and the bank can still win it back.
  • There's no shame in taking a good offer. A guaranteed payout beats a coin flip for a bigger one.

General Casino Tips

  • Set a budget. It's a casino. The house has a mathematical edge on every game. Decide what you're willing to spend before you sit down.
  • Use the Banker. If you hit a big win, bank it immediately. Don't gamble away winnings you'd be happy to keep.
  • Check pay tables. Slot machines all have different payouts. A few seconds reading the pay table can save you a lot of frustration.
  • The roof portal is right upstairs when you're ready to head back out into the world.

Good luck, and may the odds be in your favor — though Howie would probably tell you they're not.
