Starting the Quest
Speak with Ansella Gryen in the city of Zento. She explains that Deathwatch Beetle Hatchlings have been destroying her fields and asks you to kill 10 of them. The hatchlings live in The Waste, the desert area near the city.
Quest Walkthrough
Kill 10 Deathwatch Beetle Hatchlings
Head out of Zento into The Waste and hunt Deathwatch Beetle Hatchlings. You need to kill a total of 10 to complete the quest. Your quest log tracks your progress with a kill counter (e.g. "3 / 10").
After your first kill, the quest congratulates you and encourages you to keep going. Continue killing hatchlings until your counter reaches 10.
Return to Ansella Gryen
Once all 10 hatchlings are dead, return to Ansella Gryen in Zento. She will thank you for clearing out the pests and give you your reward.
Reward
Ansella thanks you and provides a reward for your efforts upon completion.
Tips
- This is a one-time tutorial quest — it cannot be repeated on the same character.
- Deathwatch Beetle Hatchlings are weak creatures found in The Waste, the desert just outside Zento. They are suitable for brand-new characters.
- If you return to Ansella mid-quest, she will remind you where to find the hatchlings ("The Waste — the desert close to this city") and encourage you to keep at it.
- The quest log is accessible through your character's context menu (single left-click your avatar). You can check your kill progress or cancel the quest from there.
