The Dungeon Treasure Chest Pack adds a tiered system of locked treasure chests found in dungeon and crypt areas. Each level requires progressively higher Lockpicking skill to open, contains increasingly valuable loot, and carries a Magic Trap that must be disarmed before looting.

Overview

Level ! Appearance ! Lock Level ! Req. Skill ! Trap Power ! Gump
1 Small / Medium / Large Crate 43 – 51 52 1 – 24 Crate
1 Hybrid Small / Medium / Large Crate 47 – 55 56 1 – 24 Crate
2 Crate, Metal Chest, Keg, Barrel 63 – 71 72 2 – 48 Metal
3 Metal / Golden Metal Chest 75 – 83 84 3 – 72 Golden
4 Metal / Golden Metal Chest 83 – 91 92 4 – 96 Metal
  • Lock Level – the actual difficulty of the lock. You need Lockpicking at or above this value to open the chest.
  • Req. Skill – the design-intended skill cap for the chest (MaxLockLevel).
  • Trap Power – the difficulty of the magic trap. Disarming it is a separate Lockpicking check.

Level 1 – Crate Chest

Tips

  • The lowest-tier chest. Ideal for new Lockpicking players (43+) to practice.

Tips

  • The 5% chance for a 105-value Power Scroll makes this chest a favorite for newer players.
  • Gargoyle tools are unique and highly sought after by resource gatherers.
  • The varied container types (keg, barrel) make these chests visually distinct in dungeons.

Power Scroll (Level 5, Value 115 or 120) 5% 1
Gargoyle Knife, Gargoyle Axe, or Gargoyle Pickaxe 20% 1

Power Scroll Detail

Within the 5% trigger, the value is rolled as:

  • 75% chance → Value 115
  • 25% chance → Value 120

Tips

  • The top-tier chest. Always contains two different rare gem types (2–4 rare gems total).
  • The 8–16 scroll drop (when it triggers) can be a full spellbook replacement.
  • With 0–2 magical weapons/armor, a single chest can fill a whole gear swap.
  • The 4–96 trap power is the highest in the pack; bring a good disarming skill or a mage to handle it.

Strategy & Tips

  • Disarming the trap first is critical. A triggered magic trap can deal damage or teleport you. Lockpicking must meet the trap power threshold.
  • Gold scales well – four Level 4 chests can net 800–1,600 gold before any item value.
  • Gargoyle tools (20% on Levels 2–4) are the most "unique" drop. If you play a Gargoyle, these chests are your primary tool source.
  • Power Scrolls are the jackpot (5% on L2–L4). Level 5 scrolls at values 105–120 are extremely valuable on most shards.
  • Spellbook farming – Level 4 at ~75% / 8–16 scrolls can out-produce a regular spellbook buy for mid-tier spells.
