Overview
The Achievement System on Banes World tracks your progress across nearly every activity in Ultima Online — exploring the lands, slaying monsters, crafting items, gathering resources, looting treasure, and more. Achievements are tied to your account, meaning all characters on the same account share the same progress and completed achievements.
Each achievement awards Achievement Points when completed. Your total point score is displayed at the top of the Achievement window and serves as a measure of your overall accomplishment on the shard.
The Achievement Points will also pay Banes World Bucks. This is the easiest way as a new player to obtain some "BW".
Opening the Achievement Window
There are two ways to access the Achievement window:
- Type the command:
[MyAchievements
You can also view another player's achievements by using [Achievements and targeting them.
The Achievement Window
Summary Page
The Summary page is the default view and shows:
- Achievement Points — Your total points earned, displayed prominently at the top.
- Recent Achievements — The last four achievements you completed, with their name, description, date earned, and point value.
- Progress Overview — A master progress bar showing how many total achievements you have earned out of all available, followed by individual progress bars for each category.
The left sidebar lists all achievement categories. Click any category to filter the main display to show only achievements of that type:
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Character | Milestones for your character's growth — power scrolls, taming accomplishments, and skill mastery. |
| Exploration | Discovering cities, dungeons, and points of interest across all facets. |
| Player vs Environment | Slaying creatures by type, fame level, champion bosses, and peerless bosses. |
| Dungeons | Entering specific dungeon areas, killing dungeon bosses, and completing timed dungeon challenges. |
| Crafting | Crafting items across all trade skills, including repair milestones and imbuing. |
| Resources | Mining ore, chopping wood, and fishing — both standard and bonus resources. |

Sorting and Searching
At the top of the achievement list you will find two tools:
- Sort Button — Cycles through sort options:
- None — Default registration order.
- Not Achieved — Shows only incomplete achievements.
- Achieved — Shows only completed achievements.
- Locked — Shows only locked achievements you haven't unlocked yet.
- Unlocked — Shows achievements you've unlocked but not yet completed.
- Ascending / Descending — Alphabetical sorting.
- Search Box — Type a keyword and press the search button to filter achievements by name. Type "Search" or leave blank to clear the filter.
Reading an Achievement Entry
Each achievement entry in the list displays:
- Name — The title of the achievement.
- Description — What you need to do to earn it.
- Points — How many Achievement Points it awards (shown on the right side).
- Progress Bar — For achievements that require multiple steps (kill 100 creatures, craft 1,000 items, etc.), a colored progress bar shows your current percentage. The bar color shifts from red through yellow to green as you approach completion.
- Completion Badge — A colored medallion on the right indicates whether the achievement is complete. Completed achievements also show the date they were earned.
- Lock Icon — A small lock appears if the achievement is locked behind a prerequisite. Hover over the lock to see which achievement you must complete first.
Notification Settings
At the bottom of the left sidebar (when viewing your own achievements) are two toggle checkboxes:
- Show Gump Tags — When enabled, a small popup notification appears on your screen whenever you make progress on or complete an achievement. Multiple notifications will cascade so they don't overlap.
- Show Progress — When enabled, system messages appear in your journal each time you make progress on an achievement.
How Achievements Work
Automatic Tracking
All achievements are tracked automatically — there is nothing to activate or accept. Simply play the game normally and your progress updates in real time. When an achievement is completed, you will receive a system notification (if gump tags are enabled) and the achievement will appear in your Recent Achievements on the Summary page.
Unlock Chains
Many achievements are organized into chains where completing one unlocks the next. Until you complete the prerequisite, the next achievement in the chain will show a lock icon and cannot receive progress. This is most visible in the Exploration category where discovering a city or dungeon in Trammel unlocks the corresponding Felucca version, and in the kill categories where you progress through increasingly difficult tiers (kill 10, then 100, then 1,000, then 10,000).
For example, to progress through the Champion kill chain:
- Champion of Champions I — Kill 10 Champions (unlocks the next tier)
- Champion of Champions II — Kill 100 Champions (unlocks the next tier)
- Champion of Champions III — Kill 1,000 Champions (unlocks the next tier)
- Champion of Champions IV — Kill 10,000 Champions
You must complete each tier before the next one begins tracking.
Account-Wide Progress
Achievements are stored on your account, not individual characters. If you discover Britain on one character, it counts as discovered for all characters on that account. Similarly, kills, crafting, and resource gathering from all your characters contribute to the same totals.

Tips for Achievement Hunters
- Check your progress regularly — Open your achievement window and browse by category to see what you're close to completing.
- Use the search function — If you're looking for a specific achievement, type part of its name in the search box.
- Filter by "Not Achieved" — Use the sort button to cycle to "Not Achieved" to see only what you still need to work on.
- Explore both facets — Many exploration achievements require visiting the same location in both Trammel and Felucca, with the Trammel version unlocking the Felucca version.
- Kill variety matters — Fame-based kill achievements reward you for fighting creatures of all difficulty levels, from low-fame mongbats to high-fame dragons and bosses.
- Craft everything — Each craft menu has its own achievement chain, so diversifying your crafting earns more points than focusing on a single skill.
- Loot corpses — Even common items like reagents and gems count toward loot achievements, so make a habit of looting everything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do achievements carry over between characters? A: Yes. Achievements are account-wide, so progress from all characters on the same account is combined.
Q: I completed an achievement but didn't see a notification. What happened? A: Make sure Show Gump Tags and Show Progress are enabled in the bottom-left of the achievement window.
Q: An achievement shows a lock icon. How do I unlock it? A: Hover over the lock to see the prerequisite achievement. You must complete that achievement first before the locked one will begin tracking progress.
Q: I visited a dungeon but didn't get the exploration achievement. Why? A: The achievement triggers when you cross into the named dungeon region. Make sure you actually entered the dungeon interior, not just the area outside the entrance. If you already earned it on another character, it won't trigger again since achievements are account-wide.
Q: Do I have to be the one to land the killing blow for kill achievements? A: No. Kill achievements trigger through the "killed by" event, which credits you if you dealt damage to the creature. You do not need to land the final blow.
Q: Do timed dungeon challenges require solo completion? A: No. You can complete timed challenges in a group. The timer and kill tracking are per-player, so each player attempting the challenge has their own independent timer.
