Town Invasions

Town Invasions are special GM-triggered events in which a horde of monsters descends upon one of Britannia's towns in Felucca, overwhelming its guards and terrorizing the streets. When an invasion is underway, the town's guard protection is suspended — meaning you're on your own. Rally with other players, push back the horde, and slay the champion to claim victory and restore peace to the realm.

These events are unscheduled and can happen at any time. Keep an eye on the announcement system — when a town comes under attack, you'll know about it.

How It Works

Town Invasions unfold in two distinct stages:

Stage 1 — The Horde

When an invasion begins, a large wave of monsters floods the target town. Every creature that can be spawned will be — potentially hundreds of them spread across the entire town area. All spawned creatures are untameable for the duration of the event.

The town's Guarded Region is disabled while the invasion is active, meaning town guards will not protect you. Watch your back.

Stage 2 — The Champion

Once every last monster in the horde has been slain, the champion appears. This is a powerful boss-tier creature — the true heart of the invasion. The champion must be defeated to end the event.

After the champion falls, the invasion ends automatically after 5 minutes, the guards return, and the town is restored to normal.

Announcements

You won't miss an invasion. Once underway, the system broadcasts a server-wide alert every minute:

"[Town] Felucca is being invaded by [Monster Type]. Please come help!"

Town Criers throughout the world will also yell this message. If you see it, that's your call to arms.

Monster Types

The GM sets the invasion's monster type when scheduling the event. Each type brings its own creatures in varying numbers — from cannon-fodder grunts to elite threats. The possible invasion forces are:

Champions

After the horde is cleared, one of the following champions will rise. These are the same powerful bosses found at Champion Altars, appearing here without the usual buildup:

Champion Notes
Barracoon The Piper; summons rats, fast and evasive
Harrower The most dangerous champion; brings True Harrower potential
Lord Oaks Nature-themed; summons wisps and treefellows
Mephitis Poison queen; heavily toxic, brings spiderlings
Neira The Necromancer; undead summoner
Rikktor The Shaker; earthquake attacks, high physical damage
Semidar The Bane; demonic champion, highly dangerous in melee
Serado Ophidian warlord; venomous and resilient

Champions drop loot consistent with their Champion Altar versions, including Power Scrolls and other high-value rewards.

Tips for Survival

  • Resist the urge to solo it. Invasions are designed for groups. Even the horde stage can overwhelm a lone player in a dense town. Coordinate with others on the announcement channel.
  • Guards are down. The town's guarded region is disabled for the entire event. PvP is possible in Felucca. Stay alert to other players as well as monsters.
  • Clear methodically. The champion does not spawn until every horde monster is dead. Work through the town systematically — stragglers hiding in buildings or alleys will delay the champion stage.
  • Creatures cannot be tamed during the event. Tamers should bring their best pets rather than planning to recruit from the invasion force.
  • Watch for Dragon Kind and Abyss invasions. Ancient Wyrms and Balrons in the middle of a town are no joke. These invasions are best tackled with a well-equipped group and significant healing support.
  • The champion spawns at a random valid location within the town bounds. Once the horde is clear, spread out and search if the boss isn't immediately visible.
  • You have 5 minutes after the champion dies before the invasion formally ends and guards return. Loot quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when an invasion is happening? A server-wide broadcast announces the town and monster type every minute while the invasion is active. Town Criers will also yell the message.

Can this happen in Trammel? No. Invasions are Felucca-only.

Do I need to be in a guild or party? No, anyone can participate. Grouping up is strongly recommended but not required.

What happens if no one kills the monsters? The invasion continues indefinitely, broadcasting its alert each minute, until a GM stops it or players clear it.

Can pets be used? Yes, brought pets work normally. Invasion creatures simply cannot be tamed mid-event.
