Pyrotechnics
Pyrotechnics is a special event crafting system that allows players to create and launch firework rockets using the Alchemy skill. Craft components at a forge, assemble rockets of increasing power, and put on a spectacular show with multi-stage aerial displays featuring unique burst patterns, color palettes, and cascading effects.
Overview
The system revolves around two phases: crafting components (firework stars and fuses) and assembling those components into rockets. Star color is determined by the type of metal ingot used, and each rocket type produces a distinct aerial display — from the modest pop of a Bottle Rocket to the massive multi-stage grand finale of a Block Buster.

Getting Started
- Obtain a Pyrotechnics Kit from the event vendor or quest reward.
- Gather raw materials: metal ingots, wool, black powder (or sulfurous ash), and black pearls.
- Craft Firework Stars at a forge — choose your ingot type to set the star's color.
- Craft Firework Fuses (no forge needed).
- Combine stars and fuses into rockets at any location.
- Place the rocket on the ground, double-click to light the fuse, and stand back!

The ingot type determines the star's color palette. Higher-tier ingots require higher Alchemy skill to work with. Each color produces a unique set of hues when the rocket explodes.

Fuses control the delay between lighting and launch. The more fuses a rocket requires, the longer the fuse burns before liftoff.
Rockets
Rockets are assembled from firework stars and fuses. Larger rockets require more materials, higher skill, and produce increasingly spectacular displays. Each rocket has a signature burst pattern with multiple stages of color and effects.

Rocket Details
Bottle Rocket
The simplest firework. A small peony burst in your chosen star color, followed by a brief white crackle. Quick fuse, low altitude, easy to make — perfect for beginners or rapid-fire displays.

Sky Shield
Named for its signature effect: a blanket of white sparkles that covers the sky like a glittering shield. The initial crossette burst sends sparks scattering, then dozens of white streaks shoot upward and outward, each leaving a lingering sparkle on impact. A second wave fills any gaps before a blue ring frames the whole canopy. Finishes with white sparkle streaks drifting slowly downward.

Little Boy
A warm, cheerful display. Opens with a dahlia burst in your star color, then a secondary peony blooms in gold and orange tones. Shooting golden streaks radiate outward from the center, trailing sparkles. Finishes with a scattering of white crackle sparks.

Moon Shine
An ethereal, layered display. The initial ring in your star color is followed by a larger expanding ring in aqua and silver. Moonbeam streaks shoot outward, each leaving a white sparkle on impact. A green bloom flower fills the center of the rings, then purple willow tendrils cascade down through the whole display. Finishes with multi-color crackle pops mixing all three palettes.

The Penetrator
A punchy, aggressive display with deep color contrasts. The chrysanthemum primary is followed by a deep red peony punching upward through it. Purple streaking bolts radiate outward in all directions, each leaving a purple sparkle on impact. A tight red dahlia bursts at an offset, then a gold crackling finale scatters sparkles across the sky.

Big Betty
A heavyweight six-stage spectacle. Opens with a massive willow cascade, then a gold chrysanthemum punches through the tendrils with a thundering double boom. Eight golden streaks radiate outward trailing sparkles. Dual red bloom flowers burst on either side, flanking the center. A blue willow reprise cascades from even higher up, draping over everything. Finishes with white sparkle rain — falling streaks and lingering sparkles drifting down through all the color.

Block Buster
The ultimate firework. A double flash announces the initial bloom flower burst, then a simultaneous red peony and gold ring detonate at different heights. Twelve blue streaking bolts radiate outward with crackle impacts. Three green chrysanthemum bursts spread across the sky. A purple willow cascades from high above. An aqua crossette crackles across the display with aqua streaks. The grand finale unleashes white sparkle rain falling from above while fourteen multi-color sparkle pops from all six palettes scatter everywhere, punctuated by a triple boom. Lingering white shimmer fades last.

Tips
- Mix your star metals across multiple rockets for the most colorful show. Valorite stars produce aqua tones, Bronze stars produce reds, Verite produces purples — each rocket's primary burst uses whatever star color you chose, while the secondary stages add their own contrasting palettes on top.
- The fuse count affects timing. More fuses mean a longer delay between lighting and liftoff. Plan accordingly if you are coordinating a group display.
- Rockets are consumed on use. Each rocket is a one-shot item — craft extras!
- Maker's mark is supported. If your Alchemy skill is high enough, your name will appear on the rocket.
- Coordinate a finale. Have several players light Block Busters and Big Bettys in sequence for overlapping multi-stage displays — the staggered timing creates a wall of color.
- Bottle Rockets are great openers. Their fast fuse and quick pop work well as a rapid-fire lead-in before the big rockets go up.
