Ritual Quest Chain

The Ritual Quest Chain is a three-part quest chain in Ter Mur given by Prugyilonus, Advisor to the Gargoyle Queen. Queen Zhah has spent a thousand years researching a ritual to break the barrier protecting the Defiler, and she needs five final components. Three of those components are obtained through this quest chain, each requiring you to venture to a different part of Ter Mur and overcome a unique challenge.

The chain features a mini-game where you chase a teleporting serpent, a combat task against soul-devouring creatures, and a tile-matching memory puzzle. All three quest items are decaying (24-hour lifespan) and are destroyed if dropped on the ground, so handle them carefully and turn them in promptly.

Starting the Chain

Speak with Prugyilonus in the Royal City of Ter Mur (coordinates: 750, 3344). He is a Gargoyle NPC titled "the Advisor to the Queen." He will explain that Queen Zhah's ritual requires five rare components, and three of them still need to be acquired.

Each quest in the chain must be completed in order. Completing one quest unlocks the next.

Quest 1: Scales of a Dream Serpent

Objective

Obtain 1 set of Dream Serpent Scales from Bexil the Dream Serpent.

Walkthrough

Prugyilonus directs you to the Southwestern Flight Tower area, where ley line intersections attract Dream Serpents. Travel to Bexil the Dream Serpent, located at coordinates 662, 3819 in Ter Mur.

Important: Prugyilonus warns you not to harm the Dream Serpent — these creatures help keep Ter Mur's magical energy in balance. Instead, speak with Bexil and ask for its aid.

When you speak with Bexil, it will offer to play a game with you: the sub-quest Catch Me If You Can!

Note: Bexil will not offer the quest if you already have Dream Serpent Scales in your backpack. You may only carry one set at a time.

Catch Me If You Can!

Bexil challenges you to a game of tag. The rules are simple: hit it 6 times before time runs out. When you accept:

1. Bexil gives you a Dream Serpent Charm (a magical stone).
2. Stand inside the circle near Bexil and double-click the Charm to teleport to Bexil's play area.
3. Put away your pets before teleporting! The play area does not allow recall or gate travel.
4. Once inside, you have 30 seconds to hit Bexil 6 times.
5. Bexil teleports to a random nearby location every 1–3 seconds, so you must chase it constantly.
6. Bexil has massive health and takes no actual damage — each "hit" simply counts toward your 6 required tags.

If you succeed: You are teleported back to Bexil's home location and receive the Dream Serpent Scales.

If time runs out: You are teleported back and your hit counter resets to zero. The Charm has a 1-minute cooldown before you can try again. Bexil will taunt you: "Looks like you are not very fast. Want to play again?"

Tips:

• This is a speed challenge. Maximize your movement speed — use potions, spells, or items that increase run speed.
• Watch for the sparkle effect that indicates where Bexil teleported to.
• The play area is small (roughly 35x51 tiles), so Bexil is never far away.
• The Charm is deleted if you cancel the quest, so don't lose it.

Reward

Return the Dream Serpent Scales to Prugyilonus. He thanks you and unlocks the next quest in the chain.

Quest 2: Tears of a Soulbinder

Objective

Obtain 1 Soulbinder's Tears from Grubbix the Soulbinder.

Walkthrough

Prugyilonus sends you to the northeast, along the twisted strips of land surrounded by the Void, to find a Soulbinder — a vile creature that devours the souls of its victims. Travel to Grubbix at coordinates 1106, 3138 in Ter Mur.

Grubbix is surprisingly talkative for a monster. It doesn't want to eat you (it recently ate and finds mortals bland), but it does want a favor. In exchange for its tears, Grubbix asks you to kill its rivals: the Lifestealers that roam the lava shores to the northwest. These creatures eat the hearts of their victims, competing with Grubbix for prey, and it wants them thinned out.

Filthy Lifestealers!

Accept Grubbix's sub-quest and kill 10 Lifestealers on the lava shores in northwestern Ter Mur.

Return to Grubbix when done. It will explain that the deaths of the Lifestealers released souls it was able to consume, making it laugh so hard it cried — and it filled a bottle of tears for you.

Reward

Return the Soulbinder's Tears to Prugyilonus. He is impressed by your resourcefulness and unlocks the final quest.

Quest 3: Pristine Crystal Lotus

Objective

Obtain 1 Pristine Crystal Lotus by solving the Crystal Lotus Puzzle 5 times.

Walkthrough

Prugyilonus tells you about the last surviving Crystal Lotus bloom, preserved behind a magical barrier on a barren island. The island is reached via a teleporter at the far edge of the northern desert (coordinates: 1050, 2940 — it teleports you to 1018, 2915 and vice versa).

On the island, you will find a pedestal with a Pristine Crystal Lotus on display, surrounded by 24 colored tiles arranged in 6 groups of 4, forming a pattern around the central pedestal.

Solving the Puzzle

The puzzle is a memory sequence game, similar to Simon Says:

1. Say "I seek the lotus" near the puzzle to activate it. You will receive the message: "Complete the puzzle to obtain a Pristine Crystal Lotus."
2. Watch the tile sequence: A random sequence of 4 to 7 tiles will flash white, one at a time, with each tile staying white briefly before returning to its original color.
3. Repeat the sequence: After all tiles have flashed, double-click the tiles in the exact same order they lit up.
4. Check your result: If you match the pattern correctly, you receive: "You matched that pattern correctly." If you fail: "You did not complete the pattern correctly."
5. Repeat 5 times: You must correctly match 5 separate sequences to complete the puzzle.
6. Claim the lotus: Once all 5 sequences are matched, you receive the message: "You may now retrieve a Pristine Crystal Lotus." Say "give me the lotus" to receive the item in your backpack.

Important puzzle details:

• The sequence length is randomized each round (between 4 and 7 tiles).
• You cannot interact with tiles while a sequence is actively flashing — wait for the full sequence to finish.
• After each sequence completes (whether you succeed or fail), a new sequence begins after a short delay.
• If the puzzle area is empty of players, the sequence pauses and restarts when someone enters.
• The tiles are color-coded and arranged in 6 groups (West, Northwest, Northeast, East, Southeast, Southwest). Familiarize yourself with the layout before attempting sequences.
• You must be within 3 tiles of a tile to click it — position yourself centrally for faster access.

Tips:

• Bring pen and paper or use a note-taking method to record the sequence as it plays. Sequences of 6–7 tiles can be difficult to memorize.
• The tiles use four distinct hue values across the six groups, so color can help you identify which tile flashed, but position matters more since multiple groups share the same colors.
• You do not need to complete all 5 sequences in a single visit — your progress is saved.
• Stand near the center of the tile arrangement so you can reach tiles in any direction quickly.

Rewards

Return the Pristine Crystal Lotus to Prugyilonus to complete the final quest in the chain. You receive:
