There is no overall skill cap on Banes World. You are free to train every skill to 100 on a single character — there is no total skill point limit forcing you to choose between them. Want to be a Grandmaster swordsman, mage, crafter, and tamer all on one character? Go for it.

Skill Cap Tiers

Skills on Banes World progress through three tiers, each requiring different methods to unlock:

Tier Skill Range How to Unlock
Base 0 – 100 Train normally through use, NPCs, or the Britain Library (books train most skills to 75).
Power Scroll 100 – 120 Consume a Power Scroll to raise the cap for that specific skill to 105, 110, 115, or 120.
BOD Gear 120+ Equip Bulk Order Deed reward gear that grants bonus points above the 120 cap.

Base Skills (0 – 100)

Every skill can be trained to 100 with no special items required. There are several ways to train:

  • Active use — simply using the skill in the world. Fight to train combat skills, cast spells to train magic, craft items to train crafting, and so on.
  • Britain Library — the library (accessible via the Moongate Portal under Favorites) contains training books that will raise most skills to 75. Each book costs a small amount of health when used, making it a great way to train Healing at the same time.
  • Training Rooms — practice weapons and training dummies are available for combat and spell training. Found under Favorites in the portal menu.
  • NPC trainers — some NPCs in towns can train skills for gold up to a certain level.

Power Scrolls (100 – 120)

To train a skill beyond 100, you must first consume a Power Scroll for that skill. Power Scrolls come in four tiers:

Power Scroll New Cap
105 Power Scroll 105
110 Power Scroll 110
115 Power Scroll 115
120 Power Scroll 120

Power Scrolls are not consumed in order — you can find a 120 scroll and go direct to 120 cap. The lower power scrolls are more common than the 120.

Where to Get Power Scrolls

  • Champion Spawns and Bosses — combat and magic power scrolls drop from high-end encounters.
  • Crafting Power Scrolls — The Master of Arts, located at the Crossroads in Trammel, drops these. The Master of Arts
  • Tracking, Snooping, Poisoning, Item Identification, Hiding, & Detect Hidden are dropped by Lord Soth The Knight of the Black Rose He is located in Madon NW of Unblovia Lord Soth, Knight of the Black Rose
  • Power Scroll Exchange — trade in lower-value or duplicate scrolls for credits toward higher-value ones.

Training Above 100

Gaining skill points above 100 is significantly harder than the 0–100 grind. Expect slower gains and plan to invest more time. Higher-difficulty targets and activities will give you the best chance at skill gains in this range.

BOD Gear (120+)

The hard cap from Power Scrolls is 120. The only way to push a skill above 120 is by equipping Bulk Order Deed (BOD) reward gear — special items earned by completing and turning in Bulk Order Deeds to NPC crafters.

How BOD Gear Differs from Regular +Skill Items

This is one of the most important distinctions in the game's itemization:

Item Type Effect on Skills
Regular loot items (rings, jewelry, armor with +skill bonuses) Raise a skill up to your current cap only. If your cap is 120 and your skill is 118, a +5 ring will bring you to 120 — not 123. These items will never push a skill over its cap.
BOD reward gear (obtained by turning in Bulk Order Deeds) Does raise skills above the cap. A 120 Blacksmith wearing BOD gear with +skill bonuses can effectively operate at 125 or higher, allowing them to craft special items that would otherwise be impossible.

BOD reward gear is the only equipment in the game that breaks through the 120 ceiling, making it extremely valuable for dedicated crafters.

Bulk Order Deed Basics

Bulk Order Deeds (BODs) are requests from NPC crafters to produce a set of specific items. When you turn in a completed BOD, you receive rewards based on the difficulty of the order — the material type, whether Exceptional quality was required, and the size of the order all factor into the reward tier.

Higher-tier BOD rewards include the +skill gear that lets you break the 120 cap. The crafting disciplines with BOD systems include Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Tinkering, and Taming among others.
